-Silas
From: The da Vinci Code
Info: When he was little his father mistreated him and his mother and later killed her because his son was an albino. Silas killed his father being full of anger and having known nothing more than violence in his life till now. He then fled home and lead a heavy life travelling from one town to other, trying to survive and got himself involved in violence again for which he was sent to jail. An earthquake gave him the chance to escape and was later found and taken care of by bishop Emanuel Aringarosa who’s kindness was the first for Silas and whom Silas saw as Jesus himself. Later on a man called the Teacher gave Silas important tasks ensuring him that he will be doing it for the good of God’s word. Silas continued killing, punishing himself every time with self-castigation and the cilice. In the end it turns out that he and the bishop had been used and deceived. Things end sadly with Silas being shot under the ribs by policemen and then accidentally shooting Aringarosa while trying to escape from them. He brings his saviour to the hospital after which he goes to a garden alone and silently dies saying a prayer for the good in his last moments.
Why I like him: After I saw the movie I came to realise that this character was what I liked most about it! At first I though he was just another cruel criminal in the story. But then as the movie went on without even realising it until after the end I held a very positive feeling about him. On one side it’s because he is a sympathetic character, which was illustrated even more strongly in the book. I even cried for him at some points while reading. On the other side because…(sigh) he is *hot*!!! ^.^ The truth is that I didn’t even know about albinos before so when I saw him I thought: “Aww, he looks so innocent with such a light blond hair and light eyes!” But later after I had heard people call him ‘the albino monk’ I researched a bit and came to know more about this kind of people. Ah, I am so grateful to him! Thank you, Silas!! ^_^


-Colonel Bonavontur Claudion Dominique de La Houlette / De La Houlette
From: Fanfan la Tulipe
Info: A colonel in the French fighting force. Responsible for creating and training the army. With wayward tastes and strong sensitivity about music and has high expectations of the people around him. Likes to boss others around. He’s also a specialist in necks! XD
Why I like him: I had missed this movie on TV twice but I had seen this guy in the advertisements and from that moment on I knew I wanted to see more of him! Later on I found the movie on the computer of a friend and started to cut out the scenes with him. During the rest of the summer I couldn’t stop watching them. I was completely obsessed! Now my obsession seems to have only grown some more, I even made a music video about him!
I find him very cute guy (he’s French by the way). I really love his tender voice, his sweet smile, his non-conventional movements. He has kind of a queer behaviour and seems to be very fond of the main guy in the movie… ^___^

-Lieutenant Hubert Gruber
From: ‘Allo ‘Allo!
Info: He is a lieutenant in the German fighting force during WW2 and is the colonel’s right hand. Used to be a window dresser and later an assistant in an art gallery where his knowledge & experience about art and paintings come from. He fancies the cafe owner Rene Artois, who has business relationships with the Germans in his little occupied town, as well as with the French resistance. Gruber was in charge of the firing squad, that he believes shot Rene dead (without his knowing, though, Rene remained alive and is now pretending to be his own twin brother in front of Gruber).
Why I like him: His behaviour, as well as the numerous indirect jokes made about his sexuality are very amusing. I am always thrilled while watching a scene with him making advances towards Rene and Rene-trying his best to avoid them, feeling embarrassed by the awkward situation. Gruber is also very talented, being able to paint, play the piano and sing with his sweet voice. He is one of the only two people to give useful ideas and who come up with the smartest and most successful plans around. He is kind-hearted and has helped out Rene more than any of the numerous girls, who claim to be madly in love with the cafe owner, ever did. Not once Rene would have been lead to death if it wasn’t for Gruber to save him!


-Lord Nelson Rathbone
From: Shanghai Knights
Info: In the year 1887 he is 10th in line to the throne, the queen’s favourite cousin and the finest swordsman in England. He is actually an evil cold-blooded murderer although he acts in secret and nobody knows that.
Why I like him: When I first saw him at the beginning of the movie I thought: ‘This guy looks too sweet to be a bad guy!’ Funny!^^ During the rest of the movie I grew to like him more and more, especially when I heard his tender voice, speak with the so-cool British accent!!! ^.^ (I am a lunatic about British accents!^^U) There’s this might and dignity about him which make him such a fast character and that makes me so attracted to him.


-Professor Quirrell
From: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone
Info: He is the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher during Harry’s first year at Hogwarts. Has a stutter and acts very cowardly. Harry believes he’s being tortured by professor Snape and thinks he’s the only one who’s protection of the stone Snape doesn’t know how to break. At the end of the year Harry finds out that Quirrel was the one trying to steal the Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s stone for Voldemort. He, then, kills Quirrell in order to save the stone from Voldemort.
Why I like him:
Ok, this is a deep story. Quirrell is the target of one of my first-ever-sexual affections. *aww!* Yeah, there’s something about him that caught me the very first time I watched the trailer for the movie, some years ago. Not only the trailer I waited for with excitement and thirst to watch, but could, also, hardly wait for the movie to come out. (!!!This doesn’t mean I like Harry Potter movies only because of Quirrell, I really like them for what they are!!!) I cried for him, because he died at the end of the movie. I believe he’s innocent and only brainwashed by Voldemort. Every single day I would watch the scenes with him in the movie, before I go to school. I believed I was in love with him, although, I now know that was a bit harsh to say. I am not able to love someone, I don’t really know, only because of their looks, especially if I was only 11-12. Now my affection has faded away, though I still find him very cute, but I will always remember how much he meant for me and will always carry him in my heart! *sniff*


-Draco Malfoy
From: Harry Potter series (the movies)
Info: Harry Potter’s rival at school since their first year at Hogwarts. Seems to hate him ever since then and doesn’t miss a chance to insult or just tease Harry and/or his friends. Son of a powerful man, Draco has a lot of self-confidence and places himself on a higher rank than the rest.
Why I like him: Well, what can I say… aren’t those two just too cool to miss out?! (Draco and Lucius) The truth is, when I first saw Draco in the first movie, I though: “This guy is too cute to be the villain! They haven’t made a good choice for the actor.” Hehe! Of course, now I know more than well enough that the villains don’t always have to be bad-looking. On the contrary: make them good-looking and the atmosphere would only be more trilling for the opposite sexes. ^.^ (*screaming fan girls*) Draco Malfoy is, in my opinion, cute, hot and makes the scenes very much stirring.


-Lucius Malfoy
From: Harry Potter series (movies)
Info: Draco Malfy’s father, works in the ministry of Magic and is a great rival of Ronald Weasley’s father-Arthur Weasley. Arrogant, masterful, with a high opinion about himself and on a high status, Lucius Malfoy doesn’t try to hide his hatred towards Harry and almost everyone around. Follows the beliefs of Salazar Slytherin, that only wizards/witches with ‘pure’ blood, or in other words, with no muggles in the family, should be allowed to study magic. A Death Eater, as it is later made clear; with other words—one of Voldemort’s followers.
Why I like him: Well I don’t like him for the way he behaves towards others, neither for his beliefs. But, come on, he is so damn sexy!!! I like him for his hotness, his masterful look, as well as his masterful behaviour, which stirs me!


-Captain Jack Sparrow

Why I like him: *sigh* Since this happened to me, I know that I am being nothing more than just the next affectionate teenage girl but, man!, I was not able to resist his charm! Comparing him with Will Turner, that Will guy looks just too plain and boring to me! I love not only Jack’s charming look but also his unique character. The way he acts, moves and talks is one of its kind and he is always full of surprises!


-Commodore (formal in POC2)James Norrington
From: Pirates of the Caribbean

Why I like him: After seeing POC 1 I thought he was the most sympathetic character. He is a noble man who had climbed to the top and was willing to marry Elizabeth. Even though Jack Sparrow caused him a lot of trouble, Norrington still let him escape and later on had to pay with his high rank position for that and basically ‘lost his life’ as he himself says it. Then there was Elizabeth — she refused his proposal for Will Turner, another man who also caused Norrington a lot of trouble while he was still up in his good position. Nevertheless Norington didn’t do anything against him and allowed Elizabeth to marry Will. After seeing his pitiful fate in the second movie, a consequence of his noble actions towards the main characters of the story, I couldn’t help but be indignant with all that unfairness! Oh and, did I mention that he is also charming and British? *grin*


-The Phantom of the Opera
From: The Phantom of the Opera
Info: A very mysterious figure who’s one half of the face seems to be defect. In the past he was ridiculed and tortured because of this. The real owner of the opera whom nobody knows in person but have only heard of as ‘the Phantom’. He falls in love with the young girl he’s been teaching singing for a long time and tries to win her for himself. However her heart is eventually won by another suitor and the Phantom is left alone to suffer in agony.
Why I like him: His story is so sad, he deserves to be the favourite among all the other characters! He was bullied and tortured as a child because of his unusual-looking half of the face. He grew up with bitter and pain and his actions in the present are understandable. In the end the girl he truly loved still chose to be with someone else and left him behind in misery. Even though he taught her on her amazing singing abilities!


-Prue
From: Charmed
Info: She’s the older of three sisters—the ‘charmed ones’. They all have magical powers and fight against evil warlocks and demons every day and save innocents. Prue is the oldest and feels responsible for her other two sisters. One might say that sometimes she worries too much, but then again, with the life they lead, she’s got her reasons! Her mother died being sucked in a lake and Prue has been afraid of water ever since.
Why I like her: I like her mainly because of her looks. I don’t see anything much special in her personality that separates her from her sisters. But she is beautiful! I remember when I watched the show a very long time ago when I was about seven and back then I thought she looked like me. So when I saw her again after all this time forgotten feelings arouse in me and I instantly started liking her!!! She’s got these mysterious eyes that make her look like she’s got some sad hidden truth within her that she doesn’t want to let people know about. And just to make it clear, I am not in love with her or anything like that! This is a different feeling which I don’t really know how to describe. Let’s say… I like her because of my own memories of the past.


-Private Helga
From: 'Allo 'Allo!
Info: She is private in the German army, also General von Klinkerhoffen’s secretary. Works as a spy for Herr Flick of the Gestapo. Seems to be one of the smartest people around and always comes up with good plans concerning the paintings and the forgeries.
Why I like her: At the beginning I though she was just another of those girls who are there to please men’s desires. However later on I realised what a cool person she is. She is incredibly smart and I must say, she knows how to use her advantages of being an attractive woman to control men! XD She is clever and rather sly.

-Satoshi Hiwatari
From: D.N.Angel
Info: His body is given as a host to an evil angel, against Satoshi’s will. He is being tortured by the angel, who takes over Satoshi’s body whenever Satoshi feels the emotion of love. Unfortunately the ‘angel’ has the will to kill the boy, Satoshi has feelings for, so Satoshi must not allow him to come out. It also means that Satoshi should always suppress his emotions when his friend is around and so he keeps himself ‘wrapped in an ice cover’.
Why I like him: When I learned the story of this guy I felt deeply sorry for him. As time went on and I kept on watching D.N.Angel and thinking about Satoshi, my deep, sincere attachment grew and I started to feel his pain along with him. He is, now, one of my all-time favourite characters!


-Raichu
From: Pokemon
Info: As the evolution of Pikachu, this electric Pokemon has such a high voltage, that his body glooms in the dark from electric charge. He raises his tail to gather electricity from the air and plants it in the ground to get rid of some if it becomes too much. One should be careful when approaching a Raichu as if is annoyed or scared bad consequences might follow!
Why I like him: I can’t say anything about character here, because there are hundreds of Raichus in the Pokemon world. However, in my eyes Raichu is the coolest-looking Pokemon of all. It is cool and cute at the same time. It has a very original appearance. It’s been my favourite since a long time ago. In all my Game Boy Pokemon games I have played I always had this Pokemon in my team.
In my opinion Raichu is a hundred times better-looking than the glorious Pikachu and I think it’s unfair how little fame Raichu has! Even Pichu—the previous form of Pikachu is more popular than Raichu.


-Marik Ishtar <-(not Yami)

Info: He is the son of the grave-keeper of the pharaoh and therefore he had to continue with this faith. As a child he was thought the way of life he had to lead and the least—he wasn’t allowed to go to the outside world but instead had to live in the family’s underground home. There’s an evil spirit living within his soul which freed him from his dreadful faith but later only lead him the wrong way. Marik is able to control people through their mind and does that a lot for his own use.
Why I like him: Well, mainly because I find him cute and sexy! Also I believe that he is, actually, innocent as the evil spirit had been controlling him. Later on in the episodes this is made clear.


-Will
From: W.I.T.C.H.
Info: She’s the leader of the group W.I.T.C.H. and is the keeper of the Heart of Kandrakar. She controls nature’s power and the other members of the group need her to be able to transform into their super-element-forms (yeah, dunno how to call them ^^U).
Why I like her: She is soooooooo me! I see myself too much in her. The style, the behavior, the personality, the interests, the family position, the way of life… it’s freaky! But I like it. I catch myself behaving like she has in some episodes of the comic-book.


-Lyserg / Rizerugu Daizeru
From: Shaman King
Info: His parents were killed when he was 6 by Hao so now he’s determined to have revenge. He has little self-confidence and says he’s weak. He looks for strong partners and so meets Yoh and the others. But when he sees Yoh, who looks a lot like Hao, Lyserg freaks out and joins the X-Laws, because they have the same goal as he does—kill Hao.
Why I like him: Well I’ve only watched one or two episodes with him, so I don’t know much about his story or character apart from what I’ve read on the Internet. First his irresistible cuteness caught me and then I started sympathizing him when I read he was having difficulties in life…(yeh, I guess characters with difficulties attract me like magnets! XD )


-Rika / Ruki
From: Digimon Tamers (season 03)
Info: Considered ‘The Digimon Queen’ by many she is the best Digimon card game player in town. She is also a real Digimon Tamer and her skills in there aren’t any less than in the card game. She believes that Digimon are creatures who’s purpose of living is fighting, just like in a game. She is very tough on her Renamon while training her to become the strongest Digimon possible. All this until later in the story when she gets frightened after facing the reality of strong Digimon. Then, after feeling lost and confused for some time, she changes her attitude towards Digimon and being a Tamer. She learns how much friendship and partnership mean.
Why I like her: I like her because… she’s cool!! In both meanings. People might think I’m a little innocent angel but sometimes I really find myself attracted to the slightly darker side! And Rika is a great example of what I mean. I like her cold attitude towards others. I like seeing her walking alone and the fact that even if she’s in the middle of a crowd she feels like she’s the only one there. Nevertheless, seeing her you’d think she’s rude to people. Well, maybe she is a little, but what you could say better is that she doesn’t care about others that much. Not until later when certain happenings make her change.


-Double D
From: Ed, Edd & Eddy
Info: Known as "Double-D", Edd is really intelligent, polite and sometimes uncomfortably quiet. He communicates with his family through sticky notes. Having free time to learn chemistry and biology isn't hard for him to find since he is permanently excused from gym class since his 'dodgeball incident'. Last but definitely weird, he mails his sock to his crushes or should I say "true loves".

Why I like him: I like him for what he is. The most normal and sensible of the three Eds, sometimes I wish he met someone who would appreciate his skills and personality (like I would). He’s very smart and caring. I feel very sorry for him always getting in so much trouble only because of the other two. I believe that if only he wasn’t always dragging along with them he would be seen as a normal kid and the other kids would want to be his friends.


-Jaffar
From: Aladdin
Info: The evil guy who wants to get rid of the sultan in Aggrabah (did I spell it right?) so that he can become a sultan himself. He later on uses the powers of the magic genie in the bottle to help himself gain absolute power.
Why I like him: After finally admitting to myself that I DO like a Disney character I must say the reason for this unusual phenomenon isn’t because he’s pretty! It’s more something like: I remember him from my childhood and he has a stirring effect on me by his behaviour and looks! I think the snake sceptre he uses to hypnotise people has done the same to me. It definitely contributes to the stirring effect. Jaffar is masterful and a not-so-ugly looking bad guy. At least in my eyes he isn’t.
